SCAA is excited to bring Symposium 2015 to the Benaroya (200 University Street in Seattle, Washington).
 
Home of the Seattle Symphony, the Benaroya is an incredible collaborative space, prominently located in a complex thoroughly integrated into downtown.
 
With its stunning grand lobby and intimate lounge spaces, the Benaroya will provide Symposium with a unique and powerful backdrop for both the lectures to be heard and the conversations to be had.

What are the dates of the next Symposium event?

The 7th Annual Symposium will be held April 8–9, 2015, immediately prior to SCAA’s 27th Annual Exposition.
 
Registration includes entrance to the Exposition, so be sure to plan your trip to include this global gathering of coffee professionals (Expo will be held April 9-12).

How much does Symposium cost?

The registration fee for Symposium is $1,100 for SCAA members and $1,300 for non-members through April 7.
 
The fee will increase to $1,300 for SCAA members and $1,500 for non-members on April 8.

How do I register for Symposium?
Your registration for Symposium will be processed through the same registration module as the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s annual Exposition, The Event. If you work for an exhibiting company, be sure to go through the Exposition exhibitor registration to ensure that you are able to access the show floor during restricted exhibitor hours.
 
Registration for The Event will open in December 2014.

How do I obtain a Visa?
Symposium welcomes visitors from around the globe. Below are resources SCAA has compiled to help make your travel experience as convenient and successful as possible.
Apply for Your Visa Early | Advanced travel planning is important as visa applications are subject to a great degree of scrutiny. Applying for a visa can be a lengthy process, so we recommend that you start early. Begin the application process five to six months before the Event. Note: many embassies require proof of registration before granting a visa.
 
Interviews | Not all countries require an interview, so it is recommended to check your local consulate office if this will be required. It’s also advisable to ask how long is the wait as some consulates may have backlogs in scheduling visa interviews. SCAA Letter of Invitation | Letters of Invitation are available through the event registration process. To obtain a visa letter, please register for The Event. Your visa letter will be automatically generated through the system and you will be able to obtain a free electronic copy of the letter upon finalizing your registration. To obtain a mailed copy of the letter, please complete the process above or and select this option for an fee of $100.
